dead prez & DJ Green Lantern "Pulse of the People" Listening Session @ Chung King Studio 4/28/09
On a hot, spring evening while the rest of NYC was cooling off, Chung King Studios was heating up during a listening session of dead prez's latest album, Pulse Of The People. The iconic SoHo studio was packed to capacity with industry tastemakers, journalists, and other artists who wanted first dibbs on the next RBG classic. As the crowd indulged in their fair share of Heinekens and Coronas provided by the hosts, the beats pulsated and heads nodded in approval of M1 and stic.man's "Turn Off The Radio Vol.3", which was produced almost exclusively by the Evil Genius himself, Team Invasion captain DJ Green Lantern. On hand at the invitation only event were the creators of the musical masterpiece, dead prez, Green Lantern and Team Invasion, and Rack Lo of the infamous Lo-Lifes crew. Johnny Polygon, a guest MC on the album, blessed the guests with copies of his new EP, Group Hug on Invasion Music.

"Green came with the heat, the expertise, and just the camaraderie. He kept it one hundred with ideas and it felt great..and I didn't have to produce nothin!(laughs) Just write.", said stic.man about Green Lantern's input on the latest DP effort. Green added, "We knocked out the whole album in like 4 days. These guys came in and destroyed it. This is dead prez, man. I'm just honored to be in the same sentence with that."
Pulse Of The People is a raw concoction of hypnotic drum tracks, catchy bass lines, and verbal assaults by M1 and stic.man that easily rival any of their previous releases. This album will be a guaranteed favorite among those who favor Hip Hop's revolutionary and conscious edge, while guest appearances by street soldiers such as Styles P., Bun B., and Mavado will keep the attention of the hardcore heads. No one can deny dead prez's contribution to the game and this album will definitely propel the duo into legendary status.
Pulse Of The People is scheduled to be released May 19.
