It was announced today that VIBE Magazine is closing its doors for good. As someone who purchased VIBE for many years its unfortunate to see the magazine go. And while I'm sure countless people will be sharing their VIBE memories today, I thought it would cool to highlight 10 Great VIBE Magazine Covers. By no means are these all of VIBE's great covers. There are some classics missing no doubt (Death Row cover, East Vs. West cover). Feel free to add your own.
10. 2PAC
'Pac in a straight jacket. Vicious.
9. JAY-Z
This is one of the last issues VIBE published. I love this cover. I think it's the image of Jay with the Brooklyn scowl on with knife in hand.
8. BARACK OBAMA
Damn right it is.
7. THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G.
If this shit doesn't capture Hip-Hop in the 90s I don't know what does. So many people and events can be traced back to this photo.
6. 50 CENT
The Hip-Hop Tony Montana. Kudos to VIBE on this amazing cover. They even utilized the same fonts attached to the classic film "Scarface."
5. BUSTA RHYMES
This is one of my favs. The cover just pulls you in. Excellent job.
4. BEYONCE
Beyonce soaking wet. If you need a further explanation I can't help you.
3. SNOOP DOGG
Amerikkka aint been the same since.
2. JANET JACKSON
This ode to her brother is even more special given the events of late.
1. 2PAC
I'll never forget this cover.

Excellent.

Good list (The 50/Scarface was my first as a staff member), but a Top 3 contender hands down was the Death Row cover.

You could've just as easily filled this list with Janet Jackson Vibe covers. Vibe loved them some Janet.

Lovely choices. I always kinda dug the Biggie one the most though it gets less attention than some of others. I wish I had a monster huge one!
