We all know it was some bullshit when "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" replaced the original Aunt Viv, Janet Hubert, with a new actress (Daphne Maxwell Reid) in 1993. Now the O.G. Aunt Viv Hubert is firing shots at Will Smith in a new book called 'Perfection Is Not A Sitcom Mom' which is due for release in early 2010. BV Buzz has obtained excerpts from the book. Here is a sampling:
"Smith had people around him who made sure no one outshone him. I was happy to see Don Cheadle become the quality actor that he is, and often wondered how he made it past one episode, as Hilary's boyfriend, being such a fierce actor. No one could be on 'The Tonight Show,' that first season, except Will. And I mean no one."
Will was layin' the seeds for those $20 million paydays.
Spotted at TheYBF.

She's just salty she was replaced, Carlton outshone Will on EVERY show. and clearly Will has acting talent, she's just a bitter old actress.

I could understand her beef if the show was called "Aunt Viv Takes In Her Nephew" Or "Janice Hubert Whitten of Bel Air". She needs to keep it real with herself and just admit that nobody was tuning in to watch her. We were checking for The Fresh Prince.

Exactly. The show was created solely as a vehicle for Will Smith!! Why is she trippin'?!?
