So I'm a big fan of the movie "Adventureland." Not only because Kristen Stewart wears a white t-shirt in a swimming pool, but because it's a pretty great movie. Funny, good writing and a dope soundtrack...or "dope" is how I would describe it. Sure there is some David Bowie and Lou Reed but the song that really rocks the movie is entry #37...The Outfield's "Your Love":

Pure 80s cheese (and I'm not even supposed to have cheese 'cause I'm lactose intolerant). It's everything you want in an 80s song (and video). Insanely catchy hook, thunderous opening and mullets, mullets, mullets! Embarrassing? Yes. Do I care? No. Watch "Adventureland" and try not to put this song on your iPod (or iPad...Dear Steve Jobs send me an iPad...when it has a camera and USB ports on it).

broken covers - Entry #21 (The "Jersey Shore" Addition)

There are a lot of great covers of songs on YouTube...there are also a ton of terrible ones that make you wonder whether or not the people who invented the web cam regret the advancement in technology now. Each week broken cool will bring you some of those terrible and/or odd covers in a new feature called "broken covers."

brokencool.com is back

* Excuse the false start *

Don't look now (actually look now) but brokencool.com is back! I must admit I was surprised at the response back in October when I announced I was ceasing operations of brokencool.com. I'm not going to get into the "why" as to why I stopped because it'll take longer to explain than why we all need an iPad...but I will say it's the people's love of brokencool.com that made me come back.

Over the course of the past few months people have emailed me, Twittered me, asked me, threatened me haha...all in a bid to bring brokencool.com back.

So what will brokencool.com be about now? The honest answer is I'm not entirely sure. I do know that providing readers with original, engaging, humorous content will be the #1 priority. I do know that you will be seeing 2 or 3 new bloggers contributing to brokencool.com on a regular basis. I do know that some of your favorite regular features will be back (Ridiculous Rap Lyrics, broken covers, My Name Is...And I'm A Music Fan, etc.). I do know that brokencool.com will NOT be the place to find every single freestyle some rapper rapped over any given Tuesday. There are already WAY TOO MANY blogs posting the same audio over and over again. brokencool.com will post audio occasionally but we are here to give you something different, edgy, funny, engaging, informative, dangerous...you get it. I mean...what other "Hip-Hop" blog rocked the front page of Digg somethin' serious? It's gonna be funny over quantity.
