The media is up in arms over the "Family Guy" clip above where the show places Chris Griffin on a date with a girl who has down syndrome. The son of former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin, Trig Palin, has down syndrome. In the clip Chris asks the girl what her mother does and she says that she's the former Governor of Alaska (referring to Sarah Palin). Former Governor Palin has lashed out at the show calling it a kick in the gut and asking "when is enough enough?" To counter Palin's outrage, the actress who voices the girl in the episode, who also happens to have down syndrome, responded to Palin's concerns by saying "I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska" was very funny." Dear Sarah Palin, it isn't your family we dislike...it's you. We are just trying to find new ways of mocking YOU. I come at this whole thing from a different angle. As a longtime fan of "Family Guy", I have seen the show do WAY WORSE stuff than this. In fact, I didn't find the episode in question offensive at all...especially compared to other clips from the show. Here are 10 "Family Guy" Clips Way Worse Than The Sarah Palin One.
EVERY SINGLE SCENE WITH CHRIS AND MR. HERBERT
As Mr. Herbert would say, "sweet Jesus." I mean "whoever can swallow the most Tylenol PMs wins?" The sole purpose of Mr. Herbert's character is to attempt to seduce young teenager Chris into his home. Yet we are worried about some short clip about a mentally challenged person...ACTUALLY PLAYED BY A MENTALLY CHALLENGED PERSON?
MARLEE MATLIN CALLS MOVIE PHONE
Not only does the clip poke fun at Marlee Matlin herself but deaf people as a whole. And it isn't the only time she's appeared:
STEWIE KILLS A PROSTITUTE
What's worse, a baby killing prostitutes with a sniper rifle or Quagmire presenting the idea he was going to pull a dead prostitute inside his house and have sex with her? The choice is yours.
PETER GETS INTO BED WITH HIS SON CHRIS
"How you doin'? Did you do all your homework? Finish all your subjects?" This has gotta be one of the worst as Peter accidentally fondles his own son. Hilarity ensues.
BRIAN AND THE MENTALLY CHALLENGED KID
I'm pretty sure this one eclipses the Sarah Palin one for so many reasons.
THE FAMILY VISITS GROUND ZERO
"Ground Zero. So is where the first guy got AIDS." LMFAO. As bad (or funny depending on if you are Sarah Palin or not) as the first part of this joke is, the second half is an intelligent commentary on US foreign policy.
PETER MOCKS BLIND PEOPLE

YOU HAVE CANCER
The Lifetime joke at the end is funny but I even think this goes a little too far. Now I could understand if people had raised a huge uproar about this.
IMMIGRANT KIDS
Making fun of immigrants? Check. Making fun of poor people? Check. Mocking war in poor countries? Check.
THE MICHAEL J. FOX ONES
I mean WOW. These are a million times worse than the Sarah Palin one. Do I feel bad laughing at them? A bit...but not really. I know what I'm getting when I watch "Family Guy." Ridiculously stupid, yet well thought out humor. I don't AGREE with everything they do but I find most of it, including this, pretty funny...even if it's an awkward, I shouldn't be laughing at this funny.
You're right dude. They offend EVERYONE lol. I remember the one about how Sarah Jessica Parkers face looked like a foot.

I am in love with this blog!!!!!!!!!! To me the uproar about the Palin/FG is similar to the South Park/Scientology debacle. These shows are funny because they make fun of EVERYTHING. Why should he feel bad about a joke about a kid with Downs Syndrome but dead hookers, pedophiles, and Bill Clinton seeing which fat chick can get a bead of sweat to the crack of her ass first is just fine.
On Real Time Seth put it best when he said that Palin is the queen of "Fake Outrage". Her offense to this is nothing more than a way for her to stay in the public view so we even remember her when the 2012 elections come around.
Hmmmmm Palin running in 2012. Maybe the Mayans were right about when the world will end.
