Yesterday DDotOmen posted snippets of Jay-Z and Kanye's 'Watch The Throne' album on his blog along with a review of the album. This info was gathered from a listening session for the album held the night before in New York. DDot also bragged about not technically being on the list for the event but being brought in by his 'connect.'
I exchanged some messages back and forth with DDot earlier today on Twitter. I thought it was only appropriate to 'leak' this chat.
I began by tweeting the following messages at DDotomen:
In response to this, DDot began sending me messages as follows:
A few things:
- You posted the snippets on your website. People downloaded them. Regardless of what the intention was, they were made available for download.
- Shit like this gives Hip-Hop blogs a bad name...with Universal and some of these other labels laying the hammer down on blogs and sites, this only gives credit to their thinking that posting music for download is what has destroyed the music industry...when we all know that it was the labels slow ass response to the Internet, MP3s and downloading that really messed up the biz. That being said, you somehow recorded unauthorized snippets of an unreleased album and posted them to your blog. There is a difference between this and posting "Otis."
- But what bothered me most is all the posts on his blog that followed. You aint the bad guy homey!!! And neither am I...but I damn sure have been involved in more grown up bad guy (blog/website) stuff than you...has Bun B ever called you angry as fuck at 8am in the morning? Have Swollen Members ever banned you from their record labels mailing list cause they didn't like a review? Did you ignite the Ras Kass/Game beef? Did you ever interview Shawty Lo on T.I.'s own website during the height of their beef? Did you ever make Cappadonna cry during a phone interview? R. Kelly ever send the RIAA after you? Did you cover the deaths of Biggie and 2Pac...WHEN THEY ACTUALLY HAPPENED? My point is, you aint a bad guy cause you leaked a few muffled album snippets. You aint a star 'cause BDot put you on blast on RapRadar. Sheeeeeeit (word to Clay Davis)...I was the first blogger to have a forum to write on RapRadar...thats what you should have been shooting for...not the 'You Played Yourself.'
Fuck this...I'm going to play with my dog.

look at this tough guy blogger over here.talking about his "connections".and all the "situations" hes been in over interviews and blogs."igniting" beefs.and covering rappers death at the time they "actually happened".WHOA.You definitely get points for that.why not cry when watch the throne Actually does leak for real.and not when some jackass posts low quality rips of watch the throne.oh my bad.its "the almighty jay and kanye".No not them.dont do it to them.if it was a rookie/underground/semi-mainstream or even a OLD VET Rapper.the attention wouldnt be this big.
if its a mp3 leak or a leak recording from a listening session or a leak from a video set and you have nothing to do with the actual project Shut the fuck up.If you do have something to do with the project.Cry for a day or two and then shut the fuck up and take it like a man.every blog has posted some type or form of "leak" before. You can even search Some of them by clicking "leaks".Blame security for fucking up.Blame the connect for fucking up.No.Lets all gang up on one blogger.Blame wikileaks! Ha!

I had an epiphany a couple of days ago when leaving the Denver airport. In the last 6 months the airport parking management has replaced pay booth attendants with self-serve technology that allows drivers to speed up their exit from the parking garage by not having to deal with anyone. The result has been not only faster service for the customers but also has given the airport management the ability to cut their expenses through a reduction in staffing.

Forget about the days when it's been cloudy.
But don't forget your hours in the sun.
Forget about the times you have been defeated.
But don't forget the victories you have won.
