Seemingly out of nowhere, upstart rapper Nelly (signed to Universal) has debuted at #3 on the Billboard Top 200 with his debut album "Country Grammar."
The album sold a solid 235,000 copies during its first week in stores.
Much of Nelly's success can be attributed to the album's lead single, "Country Grammar (Hot Shit)" with its sing songy hook. A video for the song has recently dropped:
Is this a one-hit wonder in the making? Rumors have the album's next single being a song called "E.I."
Prior to the release of "Country Grammar", Nelly saw success locally in St. Louis with his group the St. Lunatics and their song "Gimme What Ya Got."
