Some breaking Jay-Z news this morning. According to MTV, Jay-Z has pled guilty to stabbing Untertainment head honcho Lance "Un" Rivera back in 1999 at NY's Kit Kat Club:
It doesn't look like jail time though as Jay-Z is expected to be sentenced to probation, according to a spokesperson for the Manhattan district attorney's office. Sentencing is scheduled for December 6th, 2001.
More from MTV:
Rivera had drafted a civil suit against Jay-Z following his arrest but didn't file it after they settled the matter out of court for between $500,000 to $1 million, according to the Associated Press.
A day before the guilty plea, a separate gun-possession charge against Jay-Z was dropped, according to a Manhattan district attorney spokesperson.
It looks like probation was a good call as prior to the plea, Jay was facing up to 15 years in prison.
Rumors have been running rampant since the stabbing took place in 1999. Some says it was over Untertainment artist Charlie Baltimore while others suspect "Un" leaked Jay-Z's "The Life and Times of S. Carter" album.
