Welcome to a new feature here at brokencool called "Throwback Post." Ever wonder how it would have been had the blogosphere been around in the 90s or 80s? How would have the blogs covered your favorite music? What would posts look like leading up to the release of Wu-Tang's debut album? How would have KRS-One been covered in his early days? Imagine hitting up a blog and seeing Jay-Z and Jaz-O's "Hawaiian Sophie" video? Keep your eyes glued to brokencool and "Throwback Post" as we cover the old school like it's new.
Previous Throwback Post features here.
Upstart Cash Money Records rapper Lil' Wayne has released the video for "Tha Block Is Hot", the lead single off his debut album of the same name.
Wayne, who is also a member Hot Boys, released his debut on November 2, 1999 selling an impressive 229,000 copies in the first week...pretty crazy since few outside of the south really know about this dude and he's only 17.
Wayne's debut single (and video) features fellow Hot Boys members Juvenile and B.G.
