My Leaked Chat with The Watch The Throne Snippet Leaker (DDotomen)

Yesterday DDotOmen posted snippets of Jay-Z and Kanye's 'Watch The Throne' album on his blog along with a review of the album. This info was gathered from a listening session for the album held the night before in New York. DDot also bragged about not technically being on the list for the event but being brought in by his 'connect.'

I exchanged some messages back and forth with DDot earlier today on Twitter. I thought it was only appropriate to 'leak' this chat.

brokencool's Big Wrestlemania Post (Including Predictions)

After months of hype and some very solid storytelling, WWE's Wrestlemania 26 goes down tomorrow in Phoenix, Arizona. It has been a LONG time since I've been this amped to see a 'Mania show. It's always an exciting time leading up to it but this year just seems so much bigger with highlights such as Taker Vs. Michaels, Vince Vs. Bret and even Cena Vs. Batista which has been an incredible program. I've decided to throw down my predictions for the card along with a few other things for what I call brokencool's Big Wrestlemania Post (yes I did think of that title myself).

I woke up this morning to the news that Corey Haim had passed away. Sadly, this did not strike me as a huge shock, but it did strike me deeper than anticipated. I began reaching out to people and to ask if they had heard and what type of reaction they had; which lead me to this text exchange:

Me: Corey Haim passed away today.

Friend: Who the f**k is Corey Haim? He hasn’t been relevant in 20 years.

Rap Promotions Sink To A New Low

I'm completely disgusted by this whole thing. As you may have read on various websites, including Perez Hilton, rapper J-Kwon was reported "missing" by his record label yesterday after his family and friends allegedly hadn't heard from him in over a month. Following the news being picked up by countless websites and blogs, today, a press release went out announcing J-Kwon had miraculously been found. Here is the statement from J-Kwon's publicist Dorian Washington:

"I am very happy to let everyone know that I personally spoke with J-Kwon today, and he is OK. He'd like to send a sincere apology to his friends and everyone who showed concern this week. He was taking some time to himself as he sometimes does, not realizing that people would start to worry after a while. A few days out of touch versus a month is quite a difference. Right now, he just wants to keep doing what he's doing and will be more available for those who care about him. We thank you again for your outreach, and we are relieved to know he'll be all right."

Not only is this poorly written, but it raises some questions:

J-Kwon didn't realize that people would be worried if they didn't hear from him for a month?

Is there any reason J-Kwon decided to go "missing" coincidentally right around the time his album is slated to drop at the end of March?

No police report was filed (that I know of) however a Twitter account was set-up at @whereisjkwon

The record label was promoting J-Kwon's new single between tweets pleading for information on his whereabouts. Funny enough, once I raised concerns about them promoting the single to a person connected with J-Kwon, it was removed.

Any particular reason they took the time to post a background with a hot car and chick on the @whereisjkwon Twitter page?

Aside from the clear shady nature of this whole thing, the worst part is the angle they put on the news of J-Kwon "missing." They said he had been suffering from serious depression and had been quite withdrawn lately. In fact, a trusted contact of mine blew my head up with this trying to get me to post info or get involved with the effort to find J-Kwon. That contact will remain unnamed as I have respect for them. I can only hope they got pulled into this scheme unknowingly as well. Mocking depression issues for the sake of promoting a Rap song or album is disgusting on a whole other level. Does J-Kwon have depression issues? Possibly. I don't know. But as it becomes more and more clear that this whole thing was a publicity stunt, J-Kwon, his record label Gracie Promotions and publicist Dorian Washington (and anyone else knowingly promoting this scheme) should be ashamed of themselves. I've never been more disgusted since getting involved with Hip-Hop and the entertainment industry in 1996.

10 "Family Guy" Clips Way Worse Than The Sarah Palin One

The media is up in arms over the "Family Guy" clip above where the show places Chris Griffin on a date with a girl who has down syndrome. The son of former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin, Trig Palin, has down syndrome. In the clip Chris asks the girl what her mother does and she says that she's the former Governor of Alaska (referring to Sarah Palin). Former Governor Palin has lashed out at the show calling it a kick in the gut and asking "when is enough enough?" To counter Palin's outrage, the actress who voices the girl in the episode, who also happens to have down syndrome, responded to Palin's concerns by saying "I guess former Governor Palin does not have a sense of humor. I thought the line "I am the daughter of the former governor of Alaska" was very funny." Dear Sarah Palin, it isn't your family we dislike...it's you. We are just trying to find new ways of mocking YOU. I come at this whole thing from a different angle. As a longtime fan of "Family Guy", I have seen the show do WAY WORSE stuff than this. In fact, I didn't find the episode in question offensive at all...especially compared to other clips from the show. Here are 10 "Family Guy" Clips Way Worse Than The Sarah Palin One.

Yes, one week later, people are still chiming in about the thirty second clash of hip hop brashness and country innocence, that occurred at the MTV Video Music Awards. If you’ve been vacationing on Saturn, last Sunday, Kanye West yet again stormed an awards show stage, this time interrupting Taylor Swift as she won the VMA for “Best Female Video”. Kanye strongly believed, “Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time”. Although they escorted him out, MTV must love Kanye West.
