According to reports, a Florida restaurant has owned the trademark to Drake's famous "YOLO" phrase since 2010.
YOLO restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale has reportedly owned the "YOLO" trademark since 2010.
Earlier this week, Drake put out some photos of merchandise at Walgreen's and Macy's using his catch phrase and said that he should be getting paid for people using the term "YOLO":
As it turns out, it's actually Tim Petrillo and the YOLO restaurant that own the trademark. And Petrillo thinks Drake's demands for payment are a joke:
"I think Drake saying that is such a joke."
Looking at the restaurant's website, they even use the "You Only Live Once." I smell a battle brewing.
This past weekend in Toronto, Drake linked up with Guy Fieri at the Chef's Challenge fundraiser. Proceeds from the event benefitted cancer research at Mount Sinai Hospital.
